How To Make Chamomile Tea

Learning how to make chamomile tea is simple. Fresh or dried camomile flowers are steeped in boiling water to create a subtle and calming warm drink.

Ingredients
  

  • Fresh Chamomile Flowers
  • Boiling Water
  • Optional Additions – like mint lavender, lemon grass, or lemon balm

Method
 

  1. Bring 2 cups of water to a rolling boil.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons of fresh or dried chamomile flowers to a tea strainer.
  3. Pour the boiling water overtop.
  4. Allow it to steep for 5-7 minutes.
  5. Optionally add 1 teaspoon of honey to the mug.

Herbs To Blend With Chamomile
Lemon Balm – Lemon balm can help to reduce anxiety and promote sleep. It would be a good herb to blend with chamomile to create a bedtime tea. Add 2 teaspoon per cup of boiling water.
Lemongrass – Lemongrass has antioxidant properties as well as anti inflammatory properties. It would be a good herb to blend with chamomile to create a blend the nourishes the full body. Add 2 teaspoon per cup of boiling water.
Mint – Mint can help to ease digestive discomfort. A chamomile mint blend would be great after meals. Add 2 teaspoon per cup of boiling water.
Lavender – Lavender can help to reduce inflammation and to improve sleep – so another good one to blend with chamomile before bed. Add 2 teaspoon per cup of boiling water.
