Simple DIY Deodorant Without Baking Soda

Making your own DIY deodorant without baking soda is a great option if you have sensitive skin. This homemade deodorant has only 4 natural ingredients and is ready in under an hour.
Prep Time 15 minutes
Additional Time 45 minutes
Total Time 1 hour
Servings: 1 Tube
Course: Non-Toxic Swaps

Ingredients

Equipment

  • Small storage container – I repurposed a small jam jar.
  • Double boiler – or make your own by adding a glass bowl over a small saucepan

Method

  1. Melt together the coconut oil, beeswax, and mango butter in a double boiler.
  2. Once everything is thoroughly melted, remove the mixture from the heat and allow it to cool slightly.
  3. After 5 minutes, add in the arrowroot powder and your choice of essential oils. Stir until completely combined.
  4. Pour the mixture into your storage container. I like to repurpose glass containers I already have on hand but you can also purchase deodorant containers online.
  5. Allow the mixture to set in the refrigerator. When it’s solid, you can begin using it.

Notes

Coconut oil will melt in warm temperatures so it's important to store this deodorant in an airtight and sealable glass container.
