Simple & Quick DIY Muslin Burp Cloths
This simple tutorial shows you how to make light-weight and versatile DIY muslin burp cloths in under 15 minutes. These keep your baby supplies minimal by doubling as easy nursing covers or even summertime baby blankets.

Equipment
- Scissors
- Sewing machine
- Seam ripper
- Measuring tape

Materials
- Cotton Gauze Fabric
- Thread
Instructions
- Wash And Dry Your Fabric: Washing and drying your fabric before sewing with it helps to pre-empt any shrinkage.
- Cut Out Piece Of Fabric: Cut out a piece of fabric that is about 41″ x 41″.
- Pin Or Iron Hems: Fold each side down 1/4″ and then another 1/4″ to create a hem. Pin as you go or use an iron to create the hem.
- Sew The Hem In Place: Using your sewing machine, sew the hem into place. And you’re finished!

Cotton gauze fabric works great to make burp cloths that are absorbent but can also double as nursing covers and summer baby blankets. If you are looking for a super absorbent option, you can use flannel sandwiched by cotton fabric.
