Double Boiler – You can use a large bowl sitting on top of a boiling pot of water as my double boiler. If you do this too, make sure you use a bowl you’re okay to use for homemade self care remedies only or to get rid of. The beeswax is difficult to completely remove from the bowl.
Container for storing lip balm (repurposed or new)
- 1 Tablespoon Shea Butter
- 4 Teaspoons Calendula Oil
- 1 Tablespoon Beeswax Pellets Or Granted Beeswax
- Optional - 15 Drops Lavender Essential Oil For Scent
Add the shea butter, calendula oil, and beeswax pellets to a double boiler.
Heat until the shea butter, oil, and beeswax are completely combined.
Turn off the heat and drop in the lavender essential oil.
Pour the mixture into your lip balm container.
Allow the mixture to cool before using. This happens in about 20 minutes.
Make sure everything melts completely in your double boiler. Otherwise the lip balm can become grainy.
