Simple Fig Jam Recipe – No Sugar, No Pectin

With only 5 ingredients this sugar-free fig jam recipe is a sweet and simple spread that tops homemade breads, bagels, and even pizzas perfectly.

Ingredients
  

  • 10 Fresh or Dried Figs
  • 1 Lemon – For the Juice and Zest
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Method
 

  1. Chop the fresh or dried figs into small cubes.
  2. Add the figs to a small sauce pan. Pour water over top of the figs until they are just covered.
  3. Simmer on low until the water has been fully incorporated and the mixture has thickened. This took about 20 minutes for me.
  4. Remove from heat and add the lemon juice and vanilla. Mix well.
  5. Use a fork to mash any larger pieces.
  6. Add the jam into a glass jar.
