- To make this beeswax salve recipe, first add the sunflower oil and
lavender buds to your glass storage container. Then add the glass
container to a small saucepan and add water. - Bring to a low boil and simmer for 20 minutes to infuse the oil. Then turn off the heat and allow the oil to cool.
- Strain off the oil.
- Add it back to the storage container and into the small sauce pan. Then add the beeswax and shea butter to the glass container.
- Simmer the mixture on low heat until everything is melted and combined.
- Turn off the heat and remove the glass jar from the sauce pan. If you’re using a separate salve container, pour the liquid into the container.
- Allow the salve to harden completely and then it’s ready to use. It’s best to store the salve in a cool, dark place. It should last for several years.

There are many oils you can use as a base but some of my favourites that are not overly greasy are jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, and argon oil.
