This beeswax salve recipe is simple to make at home and is a wonderful homemade herbal gift. Beeswax, lavender, and a few other natural ingredients are combined to make a moisturising and calming salve.
If you like homemade body products, you can also try making beeswax body butter or herbal infused body butter.

Sooth irritated skin – apply a small amount to sunburns, eczema, or stings
Body moisturiser – apply the salve to any dry areas of your body for added moisture
Relax before bed – I like to add a bit to my collarbones and behind my ears before bed – the smell is calming and helps me to relax
As a lip balm – I like to use this as a lip balm as well as a body salve!
There are many options but some of my favourites that are not overly greasy are jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, and argon oil.

Organic Sunflower Oil
Dried Lavender Buds
Shea Butter (or cocoa butter)
Beeswax Pastilles

Instructions
To make this beeswax salve recipe, first add the sunflower oil and lavender buds to your glass storage container. Then add the glass container to a small saucepan and add water.
Bring to a low boil and simmer for 20 minutes to infuse the oil. Then turn off the heat and allow the oil to cool.
Strain off the oil.
Add it back to the storage container and into the small sauce pan. Then add the beeswax and shea butter to the glass container.
Simmer the mixture on low heat until everything is melted and combined.
Turn off the heat and remove the glass jar from the sauce pan. If you’re using a separate salve container, pour the liquid into the container.
Allow the salve to harden completely and then it’s ready to use. It’s best to store the salve in a cool, dark place. It should last for several years.
