DIY lavender pillow spray is a breeze to make and is a wonderful way to promote rest and self care. This spray uses only two ingredients and is ready in under 5 minutes.

I find myself with a new baby in this current season of life. While the little one continues to settle into the world, I’m trying to build small rhythms of self care into my days and nights. My sleep is hit or miss right now, and I’ve been hunting for small ways to promote relaxation at night.

(Another great option to promote stress relief is this natural DIY eucalyptus linen spray recipe.)

DIY lavender spray seemed like a simple project to try. As most of us know by now, lavender is helpful in promoting relaxation and a sense of calm.

Most formulas for pillow spray online call for alcohol or witch hazel, which both help to evaporate the water quickly and avoid leaving your pillows wet. But I do not like the alcohol smell that both have, and certainly do not want that smell on my pillows.

So for this recipe, I’ve simplified things – I’ve removed the alcohol and witch hazel completely. This means that you want to only spray your pillows a few times to avoid them becoming too wet. The below formula is rich in lavender essential oil and so a few sprays should be more than adequate.

Supplies

Lavender Essential Oil

Small Spray Bottle – you can repurpose one you have on hand or use a new amber glass bottle. Using glass is the better option over plastic because some essential oils can cause toxins to leech from the plastic into the spray.

Small Funnel – this is optional but make the process easier.

Instructions

Add 30 drops of lavender essential oil to your spray bottle.
