Fresh chamomile tea is a wonderful warm drink to steep when you need a quiet moment. As the autumn rolls in, now is the time to stock up on chamomile flowers to dry and save for a brief respite from the cold winter months.

Lemon Balm – Lemon balm can help to reduce anxiety and promote sleep. It would be a good herb to blend with chamomile to create a bedtime tea. Add 2 teaspoon per cup of boiling water.

Lemongrass – Lemongrass has antioxidant properties as well as anti-inflammatory properties. It would be a good herb to blend with chamomile to create a blend the nourishes the full body. Add 2 teaspoon per cup of boiling water.

Mint – Mint can help to ease digestive discomfort. A chamomile mint blend would be great after meals. Add 2 teaspoon per cup of boiling water.

Lavender – Lavender can help to reduce inflammation and to improve sleep – so another good one to blend with chamomile before bed. Add 2 teaspoon per cup of boiling water.

Instructions

Bring water to a rolling boil.

Add fresh or dried chamomile flowers to a tea strainer.

Pour the boiling water overtop.

Allow it to steep for 5-7 minutes.

Optionally add a teaspoon of honey to the mug.
