FAQ

What Can Lavender Salve Be Used For?

Sooth irritated skin – apply a small amount to sunburns, eczema, or stings
Body moisturiser – apply the salve to any dry areas of your body for added moisture
Relax before bed – I like to add a bit to my collarbones and behind my ears before bed – the smell is calming and helps me to relax
As a lip balm – I like to use this as a lip balm as well as a body salve!

What Can I Use As A Base For Salve?

There are many options but some of my favourites that are not overly greasy are jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, and argon oil.

Tools

Double Boiler – or make your own by using a glass bowl over a small saucepan.

Turn off the heat and remove the glass jar from the sauce pan. If you’re using a separate salve container, pour the liquid into the container.

Allow the salve to harden completely and then it’s ready to use. It’s best to store the salve in a cool, dark place. It should last for several years.
